The new axial piston pump, type V40M-028 from HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich, is particularly well suited for hydraulic fan controls in working machines. The pump is designed for maximum operating pressure of 350 bar and peak loads of up to 380 bar. The type P1R1 pressure reducer will continually adjust the pump so that the fan's cooling output can be very finely attuned to the temperature of the machine engine. This way the axial piston pump helps to comply with emission stipulations as defined in the Tier 4 final and Euro 6 standards.

In combination with valves from HAWE's product portfolio this enables even implementation of more demanding requirements on the fan controls. Depending on the installations space within the machine and the need for cooling, multiple fans can be deployed independent of one another and switched in sequence or parallel. Possible are normal as well as reverse operations. The pump will displace a volume of up to 28cm3/U. The continuous pivoting angle adapts permanently the fan's power uptake to the need of cooling. Type V40M-028 is mounted directly to the Diesel engine and takes up little space as it has a width of just 172 mm and a length of 182 mm. As the pump's pressure reducer has a negative characteristic curve it will also protect the engine against overheating in case of electronics failure.

A hydraulic fan control decouples the fan's and the combustion engine's speeds. In addition to continuously adjusting the cooling output, the hydraulic control can also be configured to activate the fan only once the machine's engine has reached its operating temperature or for the fan not to activate at all, in case of cold external temperatures. This cuts down not only fuel consumption but also the machine's noise emissions.

Type V40M-028 is the second model within the axial piston pump series designed for applications with a pressure range of up to 350 bar and a volume flow of up to 80 l/min. With the pump, perfectly fitting proportional directional spool valves and valve controls all from its modular construction kit, HAWE Hydraulik can offer customer bespoke efficient all-round solutions.
